Stir It Up for our kids: Ask Congress to get the junk food out of our schools!
Urge your Senators and Representatives to support Senator Tom Harkin's (D-IA) and Representative Lynn Woolsey's (D-CA) bills to get junk food out of our schools.

Dear Parents,

Parents' Action for Children is kicking off a major new campaign to prevent childhood obesity - and we need you to be a part of it! Check it out at www.StirItUpAmerica.com.

Here's the deal: Anyone trying to raise healthy children faces an uphill battle against our junk food, couch potato culture - and as a result we are facing a childhood obesity crisis of startling proportions. But now there is something parents can do.

The Stir It Up Campaign: Our Action Plan
Stir It Up is a national movement of parents working together to ensure that our children eat food that is good for them and get the physical activity they need to grow up healthy and strong. Here's what we're going to do:

Tell Congress to get the junk food out of our schools.

Get students, parents, and school administrators working together to get junk food out and more physical activity into our schools.
Incorporate healthy eating and physical activity into the lives of today's busy families.

Stir It Up: Starting with schools
Since children spend most of their waking hours in school, our campaign starts there. With so much junk food in schools and so little opportunity for physical activity, our kids are paying the price with their health.

One million parents: We need your help!
We need one million parents to generate letters and support for Senator Tom Harkin's (D-IA) and Representative Lynn Woolsey's (D-CA) bills to get junk food out of our schools. You can get started now - click here to take action!

Over the next few months, we'll keep you posted on our progress and on other effective ways you can take action. Every little step can make a big difference! You can stay involved by checking it out at www.StirItUpAmerica.com.

Thank you for all you do - together, we will ensure our children a healthier future!
